Kisiwa House is passionate about preserving the culture and traditions of Zanzibar, our home. When exploring the wooden staircases, the intricately carved front door and stone walls of the house, they tell the 176 year old history that has been preserved through generations. We are focused on conserving the precious natural resources of the island by reducing and recycling our bi products and help introduce new methods to lead the way forward for environmentally friendly hotels in Zanzibar. Kisiwa House is committed and dedicated to giving back to our local community by supporting women through employment. Nearly half the work force of Kisiwa House staff are women, some of which hold decision making positions. We also support businesses by sourcing 95% of our produce locally.
